Apple's total U.S. gaming market share jumped last year from 1% to 5%, despite the market as a whole shrinking a bit.

Let's break it down.
- The video game industry shrank from $11 billion to $9.9 billion between 2008 and 2009.
- According to recent Flurry Analytics market share figures, Apple's iPhone/iPod touch game revenues have increased over
400% between 2008 and 2009, increasing their total U.S. game market share to 5% over the previous year's 1%. Wowza. Here's a pie chart:

- Now, Apple earns more revenue from games than the PSP, and 19% of ALL portable gaming, even in the face of the unstoppable Nintendo DS. Dang! Here's another pie chart:
- Liked the pie? Here's a quote from Flurry for dessert!
"With these figures, our main finding is that iPhone (and iPod touch) is a gaming platform to be reckoned with. Controlling 5% revenue of a $10 billion industry in just a year and a half is significant. From a market share perspective, console games lost ground to portable platforms and iPhone. While the downturn in the economy may have dampened sales of the more expensive console games category, there is no denying that iPhone has generated substantial revenue and entered strongly into a mature industry."
- With the iPad set for an April release, handheld game publishers will have even more to fear... all while Apple gains even more momentum as a "real" gaming juggernaut. The future is uncertain, and Sony especially will have to step up their game to keep competing. The just-announced 3DS isn't helping Sony's chances either...

PSP GO now hackable? Exploit found in game save..

Finally the PSP GO could be "hackable" as they say because there has been found an exploit in a demo that when you save your game state it appears the famous phrase "Hello world". This exploit has been found in the psp go firmware 6.20.

the videos can be found here of proof:

A new save game exploit is apparently out there, found by Maku. The above video demonstrates an apparent Japanese demo that is exploited when a save game is loaded. They have also found out how to run woloo’s SDK hello world. So what do you think? Is it a video and a good fake or could this one really be legit? Apparently its a non PSN demo, so Sony couldn’t patch it if they found out. And its Japanese that’s all we know.
The video does have a few things going for it, 1st off its recorded in HD. Normal faker videos are very poor qaulity normally recorded on a mobile phone in CIF res @ 15 fps and shaky. This isn’t too bad. Secondly he does exit to the XMB, showing us that maybe its not a video. However its dark and could be two videos edited together?
A second video was also posted by mamosuke. However he doesn’t exit to the XMB afterwards?

Yay, we finally have an exploit. Now all we have to do is wait until forever for a goddamn firmware. For some reason, I'm feeling a sense of deja vu. Why is that? Oh right, because we've heard of dozens of exploits on 6.20, and yet, we still don't have a custom firmware. We don't even have a damn homebrew loader. More than likely, the creator of the video in question won't tell everyone how to use his exploit, due to being a greedy prick like so many others with their own exploits.

tl;dr: Don't bother getting your hopes up. The wait for a Custom Firmware for PSP GO! is your punishment for having a GO! in the first place. The only repentance is to sell it and buy a 1000 on Amazon.
Indeed they've found a way to run homebrew games.

Here's your proof

Check it out, Neon of Team Typhoon has just posted video proof of a PSP Go on Firmware 6.10 running a Homebrew Enabled Enviroment (HEN) So they got ChickHEN to work on a PSP Go, maybe through the Save Game exploit FreePlay talked off?
Watch the video and you’ll see its legit, Neon’s PSP Go running Sega CD game Sonic via homebrew emulator picodrive.
But there is a big but with this, its not going to be released claim Team Typoon. Its just a proof of concept….
